About the Founder

Jai Mittal

Jai Mittal is a grade 12th high school student at the Milton Academy, Massachusetts, USA, where he studies English, Computer Science, Chinese, Economics, Multivariable Calculus, Filmmaking and Design. As evidenced by his subject choices, Jai holds varied interests across the boundaries of STEM and Humanities, and believes in the transformative potential of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Jai’s enthusiasm for real-world learning led him to venture beyond the school curriculum and seek out opportunities in international settings, where he delved into the fundamentals of macroeconomics through Cornell University’s pre-college program, the nuances of blockchain and cryptocurrency at Columbia, and propositional logic and paradoxes at a summer course at Brown University. Particularly enamored by emerging technologies in tech and its implications for economic markets, he has undertaken a mentored research project comparing cryptocurrency prices and analyzing whether the cryptocurrency market overreacts in the short term.

Deeply connected to his Indian heritage, Jai serves as a board member of the South Asian Club at school, where his role includes organizing diverse festival celebrations, hosting cultural presentations, and facilitating talks with guest speakers. His relationship with his home country prompted him to write the Safar Series of vernacular children’s books, with the goal of inculcating social awareness in young children through literature.
